Privacy Policy

CloudEx Inc. ("we", "us", or "our") operates the "Travel Log Pro" app (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you. By using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Our Core Principle

Travel Log Pro is an app for keeping a record of your trips: it draws the route you travel using GPS, places your photos where they were taken, and fills in the prefectures and countries you have visited. Your travel records are kept only on your device. No account registration or sign-in is required, and we operate no server that stores your trips. Specifically, we do not collect any of the following, nor send it to our servers:

  • Your location history or the routes you record
  • Your photos, or the date, time, and place they were taken
  • Your notes, trip information, or the state of your visited-places map

2. About Location Information and Photos

Travel Log Pro obtains your location only while the app is open on screen, or while a recording you started is in progress. While the app is open, your location is used to show where you are on the home screen and on maps, and to add your current place to a note. During recording, the app runs as a foreground service and always shows a persistent notification, so you can see at a glance that recording is in progress; your location is used to draw your route and to determine which prefectures and countries you have visited. The app does not request the background location permission (ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION), so it does not obtain your location when it is not on screen and not recording. Your location is saved only on your device and is never sent to our servers.

The app reads only the photos you choose, through the file picker or the Android photo picker, and does not request permission to read your whole gallery. From each photo you choose, it reads the date, time, and place it was taken (EXIF data; reading the place uses ACCESS_MEDIA_LOCATION) and saves a reduced-size copy (thumbnail) on your device. The Android photo picker may provide photos without their place; for such photos, and for any photo without a place, the app estimates the place on your device from the route you recorded around the time the photo was taken. The app never sends your photos to us or to any third party; they leave your device only in images, PDFs, or backups that you share or save yourself.

Your notes, trip information, and the state of your visited-places map are also stored only on your device. The app creates a backup file only when you explicitly export one as a ZIP file (it contains your travel records and photo thumbnails), and saves it to the location you choose; for Android's own automatic backup, see 3.2. When you export or share a record (GPX, KML, CSV, image, or PDF), it is passed only to the destination you choose. With the privacy zone feature (Premium), the area around a place you choose, such as your home, is left out of exported files and of the maps in shared images and PDFs (it does not apply to backups).

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information Collected Automatically

  • Crash reports: Via Firebase Crashlytics. When the app crashes, we collect the stack trace, device model, OS version, and app version, together with an identifier assigned to each installation of the app. This does not include your name or email address, your location records, or your photos.
  • App usage statistics: Via Google Analytics for Firebase. We collect automatically recorded app usage events (such as first open, screen views, app updates, and in-app purchases) together with device information (such as model, OS version, language, and approximate country or region), an identifier assigned to each installation of the app, and the device's advertising ID (AAID). We use this data to understand aggregate app usage and to measure the effectiveness of our own advertising campaigns (counting app installs that resulted from an ad). Your location records, routes, and photos are never included.
  • Purchase information: To confirm your Premium purchase, the app asks Google Play on your device and uses the purchase information (purchase token) issued by Google Play. Google Play provides us with the order details needed to manage sales and handle refunds (such as the order number and purchase date), but we never receive payment information such as credit card numbers.

3.2 Information Stored Only on Your Device

  • Travel records: Recorded routes and locations, trip information, notes, and the state of your visited-places map are stored only in a database on your device.
  • Photo thumbnails: Reduced-size copies of the photos you choose, together with the date, time, and place they were taken, are stored only on your device.
  • Offline maps: Map areas you save for offline use are stored only on your device.
  • App settings: Your settings (including the privacy zone and whether you have purchased Premium) and the last position the app obtained (used to open maps around your area) are stored only on your device.
  • Android automatic backup: If Android's automatic backup (to Google Drive) is turned on for your device, the app's database (your travel records) and settings (including the privacy zone) may be included in that backup. This backup is handled by Google under your Google account, and we cannot access it. Photo thumbnails, offline maps, and the last position the app obtained are excluded from it (if you move to a new device with Android's device-to-device transfer, photo thumbnails are copied too). You can turn it off in your device settings.
  • The data above that is on your device is erased when you delete it in the app, uninstall the app, or clear the app's data. Backup ZIP files and exported files that you saved yourself remain wherever you saved them.

3.3 Information We Explicitly Do Not Collect

  • Your location or the routes you record (they are used and stored only on your device)
  • Your photos (the app reads only the photos you choose, on your device, and does not request access to your whole gallery)
  • Account information such as your name or email address (no account is required)
  • Phone number, contacts, or call history
  • Microphone or camera

3.4 Permissions the App Requests and Their Purposes

Travel Log Pro requests the following permissions and uses them only for the stated purposes:

  • Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION) — Used while the app is open on screen, to show your current position and to add your current place to a note, and while you are recording, to draw your route and to determine the prefectures and countries you have visited. The background location permission (ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION) is not requested. Location data is stored only on your device and is never sent to our servers.
  • Foreground service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_LOCATION) — Used to keep recording your route while the screen is off or you are using other apps. It runs only while a recording you started is in progress, and a persistent notification is always shown.
  • Photo location (ACCESS_MEDIA_LOCATION) — Used to read the place a photo was taken from the EXIF data of the photos you choose. Only the photos you select with the file picker or photo picker are read; permission to read your whole gallery is not requested.
  • Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS, Android 13+) — Used for the persistent notification shown while recording, and to let you know when a recording has been interrupted.
  • Run at startup (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) — Used only to let you know that a recording was interrupted by a device restart, and to update the home screen widget. Recording is not resumed automatically.
  • Internet (INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) — Used only to load map data from OpenFreeMap, to show this privacy policy, to fetch the list of our other apps (the introduction cards for our sister apps), and to send the crash reports and usage statistics described above. Your recorded routes and photos are never sent.
  • In-app purchases (com.android.vending.BILLING) — Used only to buy Premium through Google Play and to confirm your purchase.
  • Advertising ID and install referrer (AD_ID / ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID / ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION / BIND_GET_INSTALL_REFERRER_SERVICE) — Added by Google Analytics for Firebase. Used only for the usage statistics and the measurement of our own advertising campaigns (install conversions) described in 3.1. You can reset or delete the advertising ID in your device settings.

4. How We Use Information

The limited information we collect is used only for the following purposes:

  • Operating and maintaining the Service
  • Verifying purchases
  • Understanding aggregate app usage and improving the app (analytics)
  • Measuring the effectiveness of our own advertising campaigns (install conversion measurement)
  • Diagnosing and fixing crashes
  • Responding to support inquiries
  • Complying with applicable laws

5. Third-Party Services

Travel Log Pro uses the following third-party services. Each service has its own privacy policy.

  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) — crash diagnostic data
  • Google Analytics for Firebase (Google LLC) — app usage statistics and measurement of our own ad campaigns (install conversions)
  • Google Play (Google LLC) — buying Premium and confirming the purchase (Google Play Billing; payment is completed on Google Play's side), the rating prompt (In-App Review), and offering app updates (In-App Updates)
  • Google Play services (Google LLC) — determining your position (Fused Location Provider) and downloading the font used for numbers and headings (Plus Jakarta Sans, from Google Fonts). How Google Play services itself handles location data depends on your device's location settings and Google's privacy policy.
  • OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org) — map data. To display maps, the app requests map tiles and style data (such as label fonts and icons) for the area being shown, which may be the area around your current position; these requests reach OpenFreeMap along with ordinary HTTP information such as your IP address. Your recorded location data itself is not sent. Maps you save for offline use are stored on your device.
  • The list of our other apps — when the Settings tab shows our other apps or you open their list, the list and its images are downloaded from our distribution site (adblockerpro-lists.pages.dev). Which apps to show is decided on your device, based on your device's country or region and whether our apps are already installed; this is not sent.

Travel Log Pro does not include any advertising network SDK and does not share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.

6. Data Retention

  • Crash reports: retained for 90 days, then deleted.
  • Analytics data: retained by Google Analytics for up to 14 months, then deleted.
  • Travel records, photo thumbnails, offline maps, and settings stored on your device: kept until you delete them in the app, uninstall the app, or clear the app's data. We hold no copies of them.
  • Backup ZIP files and exported files: kept at the location you chose and managed by you.

7. International Data Transfers

We are based in Japan. The infrastructure used for crash diagnostics, analytics, map data, and the list of our other apps may be located in various countries. When you use the Service, the minimal information described above may be processed outside your country of residence under standard contractual safeguards.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you reside (e.g., the EEA, UK, California, Japan), you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the limited information we hold. You can:

  • Reset or delete your device's advertising ID in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads)
  • Delete trips, routes, photos, and notes in the app, or uninstall the app or clear the app's data to erase all data on your device
  • Turn off Android's automatic backup in your device settings if you do not want the app's data included in it
  • Contact us at the address below to make a request regarding the information we hold

9. Children's Privacy

Travel Log Pro is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age applicable in your region). If we inadvertently collect information from such a child, we will delete it promptly upon being contacted.

10. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The latest version is always published at this URL together with its effective date. We will also notify you within the app of significant changes as appropriate.
